Despicable Me 4
In «Despicable Me 4» Gru tries to tackle the role of a father, he has to deal with the new evil antagonist, the eccentric former high-school rival Maxime Le Mal, who is obsessed with cockroaches. Maxime escapes the prison and intends to take retribution from Gru and his family, so they have to become witnesses under protection with new identities in the sunny Mayflower.
Introducing the sharper and more cunning Gru opponent – Maxime Le Mal, it will make the conflict more intense and filled with rational action and farce motives. While residing in this environment, Gru with the help of his kin offers supervision to Maxime, whose primary intent is to transform populace into cockroaches. This brings an element of family’s interest in the evil plan of the new antagonist.
Maxxxine
«Maxxxine» is scheduled as the third film in the series directed by Ti West and will be released as the continuation of the break-out movies «X» (2022) and «Pearl» (2022). The movie takes place in the dark and neon Los Angeles of the 1980s and follows Maxine, the only character that survived the events of the film “X,” who wants to become an adult film star.
Mia Goth, who reprised her part as Maxine, was convincing to portray such a role that evidently focuses on the aspect of a survivor with PTSD. Maxine portrayed by Goth is not a stereotypical horror character where she is portrayed as a helpless character. Instead, Goth has created a multi faceted character in «Maxxxine». West obliged Goth to go beyond her comfort zone, so the actress staged all the qualities crucial to the personality of a Goth with passion and force.
Longlegs
«Longlegs» puts the audience in the middle of the 1990s introducing FBI agent Lee Harker played by Maika Monroe solving an open case of a Satanic serial killer called Longlegs. Tightly knit into frame are aspects of horror, suspense, and the supernatural, thus giving the film overtures of mystery and the macabre.
In the story, Harker goes undercover to the facility and finds clues associated with the occult and thus increases the horror aspect of the story. The killer is quite considerate in that he engages in premeditated murder-suicide, especially in families, creating havoc in several families. Harker’s ambition to solve the case gets even stronger after realising that Longlegs killed his own mother and is ready to eliminate another family in order to continue with his brutal crimes.
The Good Half
The film titled «The Good Half» revolves around Renn Wheeland, who comes back to his home town, Cleveland following his mother Lily’s funeral. After years of avoiding his problems, Renn is forced to confront his greatest fear: The death of the subject’s mother recently.
When traveling home, Renn forms a new connection with Zoey, on the same flight. He also gradually tries to mend a sore relation with his overprotective sister, Leigh played by Brittany Snow. Renn with the assistance of hisfather Darren an eager-to-connect, high school buddy and a priest, who is a hoarder, attempts to cope with the past, issues, high school friend, his step-father Rick, grief, and a new life.
Deadpool & Wolverine
«Deadpool & Wolverine» shall turn out to be one of the most eagerly awaited films with touch of comedy of dead pool and action of wolverine. The chemistry between the lead actors, Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman, who star as the film’s protagonists, is quite a desired and expected reunion.
It would be overbearing to point out that a certain comic relief is anticipated to be included in the movie, borrowing such features from the Deadpool character. Iconic scenes of the previous parts are shown in the trailer along with dialogues that hint at the movie’s unique style: dark humor and sarcasm that became traditions of the series, jokes made at Disney’s and 20th Century Fox’s expense. Reynolds is well known for making quick and quite witty remarks and often breaking the fourth wall and expectantly, will keep the audience laughing.
Of course, the crowd is expecting to have its fair share of laughs in this film, although the fight scenes seem to be making the rounds as well. Rob Liefeld, the co-creator of Deadpool, has claimed that «Deadpool & Wolverine» features some of the best action scenes since «Captain America: Winter Soldier». He singled out a car fight, a fight in the forest, and a third fight that was shrouded in mystery, although Evans teased that it will be one among the best fight scenes in comic book movies.
