Just in time for November 2024, theaters around the world have an array of movie options for every sort of moviegoer, which run the gamut from hotly anticipated sequels and new original stories to create memorable cinema.


1. Gladiator II

The long awaited sequel to Ridley Scott's Oscar winning masterpiece returns back to ancient Rome. «Gladiator II», which was set more than two decades after the first film sees Paul Mescal’s grown up Lucius being forced into gladiatorial combat when the Roman army invades his home. In the film, Lucius fights in the arena, facing white rhinos, naval battles in flooded Colosseum and revenge, themes of legacy.

Pedro Pascal is set to play General Marcus Acacius and Denzel Washington is General Macrinus, which is a wealthy arms dealer, for the production, scheduled for release on November 2024. The sequel reports a budget of 'upwards of $310 million', and despite filming in Malta, Morocco and the United Kingdom, it is expected to be on an epic scale with epic action.

2. Moana 2

In this surprise announcement, Disney brings audiences back into the vibrant world of Pacific Island navigation and mythology with «Moana 2». More than three years after it debuted, 'Moana' is back with an animated sequel that reunites the film's beloved characters, Moana and Maui, with a crew of unlikely seafarers on an epic, dangerous, long forgotten voyage into the wide and open blue.

Music for the film comes from Grammy® winner Abigail Barlow and Grammy nominee Opetaia Foaʻi and Emmy nominated Mark Mancina, and Grammy nominee Emily Bear on piano. But directed by David Derrick Jr., Jason Hand and Dana Ledoux Miller, the story is about how and what Moana does when she gets an unexpected call from her wayfinding ancestors to come on an adventure she's never seen before. It promises to widen the mythological world as laid into place with the original while giving new musical numbers and emotional depth.

3. Red One

«Red One» is Amazon MGM Studios’ ambitious holiday action adventure comedy based in the North Pole featuring Dwayne Johnson as Callum Drift, head of North Pole security and Chris Evans as Jack O'Malley, skilled bounty hunter. It details the tale of a brazen rescue of Santa Claus after his unexplained kidnapping and the unlikelyteamup of these two partners to make the rescue just in time.

Also starring Lucy Liu, Kiernan Shipka, and J.K. Simmons, this $250 million production — directed by Jake Kasdan — has one of the best ensembles of 2019. An early example of a possible holiday franchise, the film with Warner Bros. Pictures handling international distribution and Amazon MGM responsible for the domestic release opens in theaters on November 2024.

4. Absolution

In «Absolution», PC Robert Lewis (Liam Neeson) is back in familiar territory ... namely, in a gripping crime thriller directed by Hans Petter Moland. As a seasoned gangster trying to protect who he loves, the veteran Neeson plays it straight as he tackles the intense action sequences and emotional depth he’s made his signature in later years.

5. Hitpig!

Aniventure and Cinesite Animation’s cyberpunk adventure stars Jason Sudeikis in the lead as an all star voice cast. Set in a futuristic world, the story follows Hitpig, a clever bounty hunter pig who pursues his biggest payday yet: But Ian captures a talented elephant, Pickles, for a Vegas showman (Rainn Wilson). This becomes an unexpected worldwide adventure — and million dollar mission.
